MTS + Alamos + Won Mississippi + Hookers Green No.1 @ Westie Tue FEB 3rd
Hi there
there's going to be a great gig at the Westport Bar Dundee on Tuesday FEB 3rd: Tues FEB 3rd DUNDEE Westport Bar MERCURY TILT SWITCH + ALAMOS + WON MISSISSIPPI + HOOKERS GREEN NO.1 First band on 9pm sharp - Don't miss this gig! Entry £4 MERCURY TILT SWITCH Infectious hooks. Self-destructive tendancies. A mix of chaotic whirlwind guitars and melodies. Have supported Deftones, Hell is for Heroes, 100 Reasons, Biffy Clyro, Mclusky, Aereogramme to name but a few as well as touring all over the UK. www.mtsonline.co.uk ALAMOS Think Shellac go disco. Riffs you can dance to! A heavier Franz Ferdinand. Recently seen supporting said band in Dundee as well as Stellastar from the U.S. Arguably the hottest band in Dundee right now with a rapidly growing fanbase. Debut 7" single planned. WON MISSISSIPPI Jazz? Proper hardcore? Punk Rock? Berwick's angular guitar heroes arrive with a recent Kerrang KKKK rated album in tow. Find out what the fuss is about. Just don't blame us if they damage your hearing, ok? ![]() HOOKERS GREEN NO.1 With those in the know tipping them for greatness in 2004, surely you've got to witness the guitar weilding art-punk of Hookers Green no.1 - hear gems from the new record currently being recorded. New album was due to come out on fierce panda but now they've found another home for it. You'll be hearing a lot more about them in 2004. BTW, in case any bands are interested: on the MTS msgboard I've added a forum with a large list of Scottish & UK promoters as well as zines. Its a handy resource for bands who may wanna check it out. cheers. |

That would be good thanks. I've been trying to get both WM + HG to Dundee for ages. Hookers Green are one of the most tipped Scottish bands in London circles for 2004, Drownedinsound.com ran a piece on them recently and the band should have a new record out soon. WM have recently remastered and re-released their album which Kerrang gave the thumbs up to but they're better live imo and worth seeing. And I gather a few folk on this board may have seen Alamos supporting Franz Ferdinand and/or Stellastar. So it should be a fun night for all.

Stellastar
I saw stellastar's video for one of their singles on mtv2 the other day. If it's for a new song then I liked their previous single better. Even if it sounded a lot like the Pixies. But I guess being from NYC helps
