In The Shit - Scottish Mini Tour 26-28/03/04.
In The Shit - Welsh Hardcore Punks - Website
FRACTURE #15 I really liked their last 7", but no way was I expecting this. What a majestic release - hey guys you done yourselves proud with this. Yeah, I fucking love this puppy. Puppy indeed, its like a fucking pit bull terrier and full of rage. The lyrics are so real and the music so tight. Just think of Ripcord and Boston H/C ala early 80s and you can see why this gets me so excited. Its fast, its furious and its hardcore to the max. One to really look out for, putting Wales back on the map (just to steal an old Boston H/C cliché). MH TERRORISER #57 These guys are punk as you fucking like - full on, teeth rattling anarcho punk, to be more precise, with vocals reminiscent of Stig from the late, great Icons of Filth, and a nice line in raging tuneful rifferama. The production is superb, crunchin in all the right places, but lending the band a crisp edge that helps set them above their peers. Witness the dramatic, powerful intro to 'Minds at War', that literally explodes into the sorta edge-of-the-seat mayhem that would make the Varukers proud. What really sets these guys apart though, are all the little guitar embellishments that add a whole new dimension to even their simplest passages. Some of this is truly inspired and bodes well for the band, proving they aren't afraid to experiment with their basic sound. Hell, the bass and toms intro of 'Knowledge is Power' reminds me of Septic Death, for some reason (no bad thing), and on 'Disease' they even flirt with some Subhumans style reggae. I like this a lot; check it out if your that punk way inclined. Ian Glasper 8.5 Friday 26/03/04 - Beat Bar Dundee - £5/£3 concesion - Doors 5pm. With: swellbellys, chinese burn, declined, brutus, eyg, dirtbox. Saturday 27/03/04 - Path Tavern Kirkcaldy - £4 - Doors 8pm. With: Assert, Us Vs Them, Fighting Cougars. Sunday 28/03/04 - Merecat Edinburgh - £3 - Doors 8pm. With Miuku, Social Insecurity. |
