My Deaf Audio @13th Note Cafe
Monday the 24th May at The 13th Note Café, King st Glasgow Doors: 8pm £4 on the Door Over 18’s Andy: Vocals Lofty: Guitar/Vocals Nick: Bass Mike: Drums BRIGHTON is famous for many things, and soon to be added to the list is possibly ‘Britain’s best kept secret’ MY DEAF AUDIO. Formed in September 2001, and signed to Lockjaw Records one year later after an awesome set at Essential, the band’s unbelievably infectious debut EP ‘Got A Friend’ has set them on the road to success! Already described as ‘The Wildhearts with an emo bent’ by Metal Hammer’s Steven Wells, the boys from MDA have been winning fans nation wide, as they tour everywhere and anywhere to show the kids how it should be done! These boys just love gigging! Having already played with punk rock legends ‘The Dead Kennedy’s’, fast rising emo scamps thisGIRL, and established U.S. artists including Midtown, Finch, Fenix TX and the RX Bandits, My Deaf Audio look set for great things in the coming months. The reputation of their blistering live shows begins to precede them wherever they tour. April 2003 sees the band undertaking their longest tour so far. A Co-headline tour of 20 shows throughout the UK with Dustbyte, before setting off at the beginning of May to conquer Germany. The European leg of their Spring touring schedule includes 10 shows being sponsored by a German Radio Station, who were so impressed with the ‘Got A Friend’ EP that they immediately contacted the band’s agent and made the amazing offer for their first tour of the Country. Then just when you would expect them to be settling down for a long deserved rest – you’ve guessed it - they start another UK tour with Label mates AURA SUN. So by the time their debut album is set for release in September every punk rock fan in the Country should know the band’s songs and Brighton will be looking forward to adding MDA to its list of famous sons.
