codebreaker

thanks Ged - we were stunned but pleased.
Mark sent him a 7" with a letter and he read most of it out on air!

I'm amazed he could read the handwriting

that Alamos is a new band, first single, please check it out etc

Steve Lamacq's support of the likes of biffy early on, helped get them
a deal. He also played Stapleton quite a bit which helped their
first album when it came out. I've heard fife's Ameteur Guitar Anti Heroes
on his 6Music show a bit too. I admire the fact that if he likes something
from Scotland he tries to play it, and doesnt do what alan mcgee does,
which is constantly wank off on air about whatever Glasgow band is
fashionable this week in some desperate attempt to be cool.

Zane Lowe emailed Alamos recently so there's a small possibility
that he'll play it - although given how many labels are eagerly trying
to get their current cash-cows on air during this pre-christmas sales time
means that the odds are pretty slim.

I like Zane Lowe. It must be tough trying to keep your enthusiasm
all the time when you're interviewing such gut-wrenchingly awful bands
as Puddle of Mudd etc and trying to sound interested. But then again
five mins later he gets to play a tune he really likes so I guess thats
part and parcel of the job. Plug the corporate rock turds and then
get on with the T U N E S.

Alamos: single of the week at organart.com

"ALAMOS – Kill Baby Kill (Pet Piranha) Scottish thing that sounds
like Franz Ferdinand being mutilated by fuzz peddle guitar zombies
with a Girls Against Boys fetish.
Very fine and jagged Small Ships b-side, rather fine debut,
you don’t want to be getting chicken in your milk shake though" - organart.com
