There's no accounting for the way people dance, i do believe any dancing ive seen is is fine

why when you people were the minority do you feel you have the right to take up the majority of the room?

Because its a hardcore gig and dancing generally takes up room.
I know I don't got to a show to take pictures and whine about anything i dont like.

i wanted to watch BO but i was having to spend too much time looking out for the uncoordinated and excesively violent flailings of a bunch of fucking morons.
as someone pointed out even people standing at the back were being affected and also people just coming in the door. i'll be down the front for gigs as i have been for the past 16 years however i don't have to put up with being kicked or punched, you tell people to quit moaning and get out of the way? well i don't expect to hear any fucking moaning if i bust your fucking head at a show if you hit me because you know what to do; stay out my way.

Bring the mentality of "someone bumps into me because i dont like the way they are dancing and ive no savvy to get of the way then im going to hit them" then 9/10 times you'll have 15 people on top of you in a second...

And Im not talking about glasgow folk here btw, im talking about anyones friends you do that to in Dundee....or any other fucking place.

on a lighter note: the competition aspect in the dancing, i noticed that too, and it made me laugh (which was nice), you have your big space then one of you goes in does some floor punching and a bit of windmilling then swaggers off and then the next guy jumps into the space and does some high kicks and roundhouses before he to goes off to the side and the next guy comes in, it wasn't very often that you all danced at the same time. this whole process made it look like a breakdancing competition. especially when you swagger off to stand and watch the next guy, fucking hilarious.

Maybe people were waiting on space to dance?

I know when everyone went off there was plenty of room.

I only started giving what I PERSONALLY think should be going down at a show because I felt I was being given a set of rules that read like "stick your your own area" like I was a fucking kid.

My ADVICE is if there is ever alot of dancing at a show (like last night, which BTW is the most dancing ive seen at a show in scotland baring MPB) stay a bit back from people dancing, I.E. not on the front line next to them.

Or just stand on the stage or in a queer corner taking pictures (like you usually do), you can't get hit up there unless theres stage diving or mic grabs in which case you COULD get bumped into.

Like I say noone is USUALLY hit if they are standing back from the dancing, tis common sense.


This amount of dancing barely ever happens....and hasnt happened much before because we are just starting to build a scene in scotland...its getting bigger and expanding and thats fucking amazing.

I think that people just arent used to this dancing and are severly threatened by it because theres more people coming into their scene and it isnt what they expected it to be like.

Also - opposite to your statement - Are you saying I can't have a dance the way I like at a show in fear of YOU being or wanting to stand in place near where I happen to be?

Are you saying if you're there I shouldnt dance because the dancing doesnt fit the style of dancing you like?

I mean its getting stupid, get a wee grip on reality here.

just to be clear i'm not saying don't dance and have fun, just be considerate and respect the space and rights of those around you. if you get near the edge of the pit reign it in a bit and go back, there's no need to ram into folk fists and feet flying. that hurts. if you've got too much momentum and a collision is unavoidable, stop swinging your fists, open hands and say sorry. people won't get pissed off with that.
i got kicked in the bollocks during divide but the guy immidiately apologised so i didn't get pissed off about it. however if he hadn't of given a shit i would have.
i have no problem with being bumped into which i have stated already or stagedived on (fuck i do that anyway and will always catch anyone else doing it). also i do generally keep out of the way of the pit (as you note i'm generally taking photos) what i'm asking for is consideration from the dancers which on the evidence of it doesn't happen. not too much to ask is it? lose the fists when you get to the edge of the pit? you can cannon into me and i'll just shove you back the way you came but if your fists are flying i'm unlikely to react kindly am i?

i do think some if it is moronic or stupid looking (and i'm sure i did say that) but no ones forcing me to do it so what do i care if it looks a bit silly(to me), some if looks quite smart and way beyond my quite unatheletic abilities also. what gets my goat is the fists and feet flying at the edge of the pit which from my vantage point i did see happen a lot. whilst the intent might not be to injure that is the effect. now it's mostly you and your mates doing the dancing so maybe you can influence you all on a pit of pit etiquette of reigning it in at the edge to avoid injuring people and the burgeoning scene will be more tolerant and accepting of it's different participants. you look out for each other in the pit but you also have to look out for those that aren't.

on a different note, you got a problem with me taking photos or something? you've made a few remarks about it? i'm confused. it's not cuz i didn't take photos of you guys is it? cuz i'd normally photo every band but all my rechargable batteries had gone walk about so i went with the intention of photoing only champion and comeback kid due to power considerations. don't feel left out, i'm sure you'll get immortalised in all your motion blurred glory at some point.

nah, the rest of you guys are good dancers and it's awesome that there are so many kids making the bands feel welcome by participating. the moral is, Simon shouldn't have kicked anyone in the throat or jumped on them, and that's about it.

Nah I've not a problem.

I just was pointing it out due to the fact that IT IS what you do mainly at the shows I've seen you at. (which is pretty much every hardcore show in dundee) but you seem really orientated with negative(s) and pit attitude to me for someone who isnt involved that much.

But aye its pretty cleared up now, so play nice.


FAO DAVE : that was REALLY out of order, and while we may be on the internet and you may have a problem with Simon saying shit like that only causes trouble.
