Red Sirus Scottish Gigs (March 2005)
Red Sirus Scottish shows for 2005:
18th March - Dundee - Westport Bar - w/ Dead or American + others tbc 19th March - Glasgow - 13th Note Cafe - others tbc ** ** ** A blurb about Red Sirus as follows: Red Sirus are a five-piece band from Northern Ireland. Using a combination of melodic vocal and violin lead structures, ear shattering guitars and bass-driven, pounding rhythms, the band draw influence from, and have been compared to acts such as Radiohead, Nick Drake and Mogwai. Their latest demo, "After The Fall" is the follow up to their 2003 home recorded debut “Cerro Tololo Sky”. The cd, embraced by the likes of Therapy?, Snow Patrol, Jetplane Landing, BBC Radio1 NI and HotPress Magazine, has had tracks included on a host of sampler CDs presenting upcoming UK acts, including Smalltown America’s latest label Compilation. Having played support slots with the likes of Snow Patrol (on the Irish leg of their sold out 2004 tour), Gorky´s Zygotic Mynci and Explosions in the Sky, as well as playing the Tennents Vital Festival in Belfast and the Oxegen Festival in Dublin in the Summer 2004, Red Sirus look forward to a host of UK and Irish dates in the coming months. Change of date, the 13th Note gig will be the 19th instead of the 17th. The show will start a little later because of a Comedy club on before it (gig starts at 9.30pm). However there will be a late license for the night, so the gig will go until 12.30am instead of the usual 11.30pm.
Cheers. |
