i was gonna try and learn some of fritz's songs so i could sing along, then realised that i'd only be spoiling everyone elses enjoyment....

I am most upset as I will no longer be able to come along for this as there is no way I can get away from my training early as I have a big tournament this weekend that I am attending, plus I can't even make it along for the later part as I have a load of uni work that needs to be done for tomorrow

I hope everyone who is playing, plays really well and has a good time and I hope everyone who is not playing has a brilliant time listening to those who are.

I am so upset now

i really tried to enjoy this gig but it just wasn't happening. i do appreciate miss jana hunter coming over all the way from the us, but to me she just sounded like a less exciting version of devendra banhart/joanna newsom and i don't like them in the first place. viking moses was entertaining to look at i guess, it's just a shame about the quality of his songs
the a forest and fritz would've been a much more enjoyable experience for me had i not seen both of these acts plenty of times before, five times in the space of about six months seems to be a bit much

oh well

this gig hurt me

I appreciate what the two touring acts were trying to do, and the songwriting was pretty good, I like the structuring and especially the lyrics but I really can't listen to such bare music for so long. I'm obviously some kind of musical moron, but sometimes I need things to build, or expand, not just grind along. it makes me feel very uncomfortable and I find it almost impossible to enjoy. Uncle Fritz was nice but by the time he came on, I couldn't focus properly and had to leave.

still, yay!

Thanks to everyone who came, i though it was a good evening.

I felt bad that Fritz didn't get to play for too long as we started a little late and Brendon played for longer than I expected, but hey.

As for us playing too often, i originally planned our first Dundee gig of the year to be with Misty's Big Adventure next month, but this came up and i thought it would be a good excuse for us to try something different. Ho hum.

I thought this was a good night - all the artists performed well. I only managed to stay for 3 of Fritz's songs unfortunately- How many did he play in the end?

The whole night was completely different to most gigs that happen in Dundee and was a worthwhile venture for this reason alone. The fact that the music was really good is an added bonus.

The A Forest haven't played Dundee since mid-December, and last night was only the bare bones of them.
