Jana Hunter

"Born the fifth of nine children in Pantego, Texas. Writing, recording, performing for 10 years. Wanted to be an oceanographer. Played classical violin for 13 years. Lives in Brooklyn.

Hunter has supported Vetiver, Devendra Banhart, Angels of Light, Windsor For the Derby, Shannon Wright and Tyondai Braxton, and played with Devendra Banhart and CocoRosie.

She's been making and selling (at shows/record stores) her own cd-r's for 6 or 7 years. For a short time, she sang and wrote for a band from Houston, Texas, called Matty & Mossy that released a cd (Fraimers Haimey) on Fleece Records and toured the east coast. In 2004, her song "Farm, CA." was included in the "Golden Apples of the Sun" cd compiled by Devendra Banhart for Arthur Magazine's Bastet label. A live version of her song "The New Sane Scramble" will be released on Spleen's compilation "The Black and White Skins" for Les Disque Du Crespuscule. In the spring of 2005, Troubleman Unlimited will release a Jana Hunter and Devendra Banhart split cd/lp."

Oh, just listening to Viking Moses and I really like the sound!

Hello.

I, and all else involved, would really appreciate it if you could come along to this. I've been pretty slack with promotion as i've had a very busy couple of weeks, so sorry if i spam it on here a little too much.

Read the descriptions, listen to the MP3s and come down if you like the sound of it. You could even come along if you fancy a change, or just an evening out. I know Monday is a bit of a crap day for a gig, and that you've all already been spoiled for choice this week, but you don't get a week or so like this very often :P
