Black Sun Supporting Guapo, Glasgow, Barfly, 20/04

Black Sun will be supporting Guapo at the Barfly in Glasgow on Wednesday night. For those of you unaware of Black Sun's product they like slow, wrong, heavy and a whiff of jazz. These names have been mentioned in reference to BS sound: Swans, Godflesh, Neurosis, Corrupted, Sunn0))), Depeche Mode, Joy Division, Arvo Part. There is a strong possibility that YOU WON'T LIKE IT `©' .

Guapo's new album, Five Suns, feels like the ending of something vast. That something could well be the entire history of progressive rock. Its tracks capture all the power of the band's live sound and embellish it with glorious detail - buzzing synths rushing past subtly glimpsed ghosts of sound. Its needling refrains resonate long after the sound has gone. Dead stars and planets sing through you. Too late, you realise that Guapo has claimed another victim. (from www.guapo.co.uk)

Also on the bill are Moniack.

Doors are 8pm, tickets are £6.00.

I was planning on going to this already to flier the Cerberus Shoal show (since they did that Ducks And Drakes record with Guapo last year I think?), but now there's even more reason to with Black Sun playing! huzzah!

Saw Black Sun years agao playing when they were a 2 piece with a drum machine supporting Guapo at the old westport bar in dundee. Was an amazing gig, one of the best I have being to, will deffinitely try to get done to this one!
