Sat May 14th: Eiger, Cowtown, Moniak, Jesus Elephant God @ 13th Note, Glasgow

ALL ABOUT THE RIFFS PRESENTS...............

EIGER (LEEDS)

Featuring the guitarist from the mental screamo
madness that is Tigers!, Eiger play heavy grooves with
off kilter time signatures. There are moments of metal
madness with guitar harmonies and rhythms that would
make Converge sick yet there are quirky, melodic
interludes with 3 WAY vocal harmonies! It shall be
epic, it shall be crushing, it shall be interesting!
Hardcore for the open-minded.

COWTOWN (LEEDS)

Members of Tigers! and Monster Killed by Laser,
Cowtown are here to bring the moves. Rocking guitar
licks with disco beats. The closest you'll come is
probably Devo. Drums, guitar, and casio is all you
need.

MONIAK (EDINBURGH)

"Progressive rock, with an emphasis on the rock",
according to guitar hero, ricky from Moniak. Returning
to Glasgow following supporting Guapo, they will rock
your socks off with 3 guitars playing King Crimson
prog and Iron Maiden style harmonies, a Jesus Lizard
style rhythm section, and of course a synthesiser.

JESUS ELEPHANT GOD (GLASGOW)

Returning to the fold after a short absence are the mighty
Jesus Elephant God. The guitar plays dark, noisy, yet
melodic chords while the drums pound the toms and the
vocals let rip. Similar to hardcore in the vein of
Kiss It Goodbye and Dead Guy but with more epic songs
like Neurosis.

I've been wating for Eiger to come up since last year. Can't wait.

What's up with the JEG mp3 download? It's taking days, and I've got broadband. Is it a 2 hour epic?

Yeah it was IUMA causing the problem. There was me thinking it was some kind of rock opera. Really like the songs though well worth the wait.

That Moniak singer is competing with Youngy in the slimmest man in rock look.

never fear, eiger is the least "rock" looking band ever. we often get people asking us when the sunshine bus is coming to pick us up.

gaaaaah, will anyone EVER spell MONIACK correctly?
Even listings (ie. Metro, the List) manage to get it wrong despite being sent the info with correct spelling in the first place...
