Fighting Shit and Black Tax - Sunday 5th June - The Universal (Glasgow)
Mick and Alice's Rent-a-thrash Experience presents:
Fighting Shit Premier thrash assault from Iceland, firing short and sharp slabs of righteous anger in your direction! One of the most entertaining bands I saw last year, they hit every chord and screamed every word like it was their last. Their earlier stuff was very much in the 625 fastcore vein, but recently they've been moving towards a sound not disimilar to the likes of The Now Denial. http://www.fightingshit.tk Fighting Shit - No Hope for the Dead Black Tax More lightning fast hardcore, this time from London. Equal parts anthemic and abrasive, Black Tax are pretty much the midway point between the chaos of early DC hardcore and the rousing refrains of Turning Point and Gorilla Biscuits, overlayed with an all together more modern vocal sound. Very nice! http://www.myspace.com/blacktaxstatistic Azriel A mosh-tastic mix of metal and UKHC. They've been making quite a name for themselves recently so they shouldn't need any introductions, if you like your beatdowns then this is the band for you. http://www.myspace.com/azriel + MYSTERY SPECIAL GUESTS! Sunday 5th June at The Universal (57 - 59 Sauchiehall Lane) Doors 8.00pm £5 Please come along to this one! The venue is just in that bit between Sauchiehall Street and Bath Street that has the chalkboard with the 'witty' comments scrawled on it, literally a stone's throw away from Bar Bloc. If that's not helping you any more then here's a map: http://www.multimap.com/clients/gif....&panx=0&pany=0 Should be finished up for around 11.00pm in time for you all to get your last trains and busses home. CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS!!!
Fighting Shit have seriously got to be THE most energetic band I've ever seen! So much passion in them, not only in their performance but in everything about them. If there was ever a band to force Glasgow crowds to move their arses it's these guys; at the Core Studio show last year they were all over that room, circle pits and all, and everyone left with big smiles on their faces. Very much looking forward to this indeed! |

Bands like Fighting Shit make me think there's some hope in hardcore yet,
One of the best bands and nicest bunch of folks i've met in this game. Videos of them playing here: http://www.hghc.org Last edited by DaveRowlands : 20th May 2005 at 05:09 PM. |

2nd page already? I don't think so! Besides, I have reason for this bump - the map I linked to previously is a bit inaccurate, so I've taken the time to get do one for ya:
Glaringly obvious. Hopefully have another band confirmed soon. Last edited by Kierkegaard : 24th May 2005 at 12:31 AM. |

Mistake on the map - where it says Renfield Street it should, in fact, say Hope Street. Further to this, Twenty Centuries of Sleep have had to pull out as our drummer will be elsewhere, more bands to be announced ASAP.

FURTHER BUMP. This is a week away folks, and anyone who misses it is a big pansy. Just to give you some more encouragement (were it needed), we've confirmed another band - they're currently veiled in secrecy, but if you were at the Atomgevitter show at the Arc on Friday then you'll have caught them then. Fans of Dillinger Four/Gainesville punk rock will be kept especially happy by this evasive lot, who might even have a name by the time they play.
