Cerberus Shoal in Edinburgh Tonight (Monday)
Yep, they're in Edinburgh tonight, at the Subway, Cowgate I think.
I've no idea what time it starts, who else is playing or how much it costs to get in, but I do know that they absolutely amazed everyone who saw them in Glasgow on Saturday night, and so if you're from Edinburgh and have the chance to go along tonight, don't miss it. I've never seen a more multi-talented group of people do the things they do without getting boring or contrived. Even if you're not the biggest fan of their music, you can't help but be impressed by their complex layers, fantastic structure and ultimately amzing musicianship. Go check 'em out! |

oi, thanks for the plug, it should be amazing... here's the info:
CERBERUS SHOAL + Acrnym + My Kappa Roots + Dancing Mice tonight (Mon) at the Subway, 69 the Cowgate, Edinburgh doors 7.30pm, £4 About Cerberus Shoal: "Curious and curiouser sound collages, improvisations and roiling rivers of rhythm" the Wire "Cerberus Shoal's sound is a blend of rock-opera and psychedelia humor that can seriously knock Humpty Dumpty about and put him back together again" Punk Planet "The abstract renderings of these Maine bullnecks tread upon the same metaphysical turf as the first Red Crayola album in the communal, group-minded oneness. The sounds here range from post-Pere Ubu / Residents clank to funky rhythms to lost-in-the-forest-stumble. Above all, there's a caste of organic moss-sprawl, complete with handclaps, that makes these moose men and women the kazoo-toting champs of downeast dadaism. Employing Zappa-esque spoken-word chicanery with clownish chirps and room-levitating ambience, Cerberus Shoal deserves its own personal cabin in the enchanted post-Terrastock forest."
