Trent LIVE in Edinburgh and Glasgow (29th and 30th)
TRENT / Semper Fire / The Hype
Saturday 30th July 2005 Barfly, 260 Clyde Street, Glasgow £5 / Doors 8pm / Over 18s Only TRENT / Nixin Friday 29th July 2005 Subway Cowgate, 69 Cowgate, Edinburgh £5 / Doors 7:30pm / Over 18s Only Formed in Glasgow in 1997 but now based in Brighton, TRENT are named after the street in which the five members grew up. The band’s relocation to Brighton in 2004 saw them sign to independent label Backbeat Records. Larger labels have been sniffing around, and the band’s as yet untitled debut album could be released by one of these suitors. The album, currently being recorded with Phil Vinall (Radiohead / Placebo), follows the American God EP, which was released in September 2004, with the lead track generating much airplay, including on XFM. Described by Southscene.Net as “superbly crafted indie rock songs of the highest calibre with some subtle creative flourishes and deft song writing and musicianship”, Trent return to their roots with a show at Glasgow’s Barfly (Saturday 30th July), as part of a mini-tour that also sees them take in Edinburgh (Subway Cowgate, Friday 29th July) and Newcastle (The Archer, Sunday 31st July). Tickets are on sale now, priced £5, and are available from: Glasgow date (Barfly, 30th July): Tickets Scotland (Argyle Street, Glasgow) www.TicketWeb.co.uk www.dicelines.com Edinburgh date (Subway Cowgate, 29th July): Ripping Records www.dicelines.com Check out the band’s website at www.trentonline.co.uk, and purchase the American God EP from www.backbeat-records.co.uk. |
