this was pretty good. they were a lot tighter than last year, but the new tunes are a bit gash. old stuff was great.

fucking shite. never seen a band so bored by their own music, and with good cause, the new album is baws. they known absinthe party is their best song, and they made a total arse of it last night, totally disappointing.

the audience was pretty quick to get out after they finished their 'inspired' rendition of absinthe party...no shouts for encore, not much in the way of applauding either. cannae blame them. i was gonna buy a t-shirt. fuck that. rubbish.

the more i think about minus the bear, the more i think bandwagon. they sound like franz ferdinand with fingertapping but minus the great accent! i'm glad i did'nt go see them now. they are a novelty band. sharks keep moving should have stayed together, wouldn't be as popular but way fucking better.

as for dismemberment plan...

franz ferdinand bandwagon? havent minus the bear been releasing the same kinda stuff since 2001? since botch split up maybe? i'm not really sure when botch split up actually.

anthology of dead ends came out some time in 2002, so i'd assume botch split just after that.

i have no complaints about minus the bear's tunes, i just thought the sound was crap for all of their set, too much bass, not enough guitar. and the selection of tunes played were fairly drab for the most part.
