Yeah it is.. a journey we all have to make to get to gigs.
what would people prefer? No show at all? I very nearly didn't take it on, cos I really can't be arsed with all the bullshit bitching and moaning. Then there would have been no gig in Scotland. I guess I could have handed out flyers for Dundee back in May, then moaned like fuck on posts about the Glasgow 'show' . But I didn't. People need to stop thinking of this as moving from Glasgow - cos it was never IN glasgow in the first place. Last edited by paul engage : 16th September 2005 at 09:11 AM. |

I certainly haven't mentioned it. What im saying to you on here has spawned from a conversation you've had with me a million times about how your sick of dundee, its fashion kids, and their "no shows" at "real hardcore shows" and how you cannot afford to do shows because of the money your losing. All Im doing is telling you the truth mate, Im not ASKING you to move it to glasgow as ive already said, I couldnt really give a toss, as ive said ill be there. I just know it would be a better turn out you would make your money and you wouldnt have to complain to me about dundee being shite. I think this runs deeper than you thinking dundee will be just as good a show as it would be in glasgow, as I can see your underlieing anger showing through. What ever its over, its FUCK ALL to do with me all I was doing was trying to help you out as a mate there and got shot down so do what you like, you know? Your hate is misdirected. The last glasgow champion show wasnt busy simply for the fact it was POORLY advertised, the supports were BADLY chosen (whether you like em or not) and it was DF or someone equally as big putting the show on which ment high ticket prices for a HC show. The Dundee show was a COMEBACK KID show, your totally missing that bit out. AS for Perth kids - the same way the Always get to fucking glasgow! Train. Im pretty sure transport to and from glasgow is easy going to perth. I should know, I do get the last perth train home and get off at Croy most shows I go to, you know? All I was trying to say was there is a far more sizeable crowd from glasgow who would be at this show than that of Dundee. and I know thats true. There will be glasgow kids who will make it up, but as alot are on the shy side of 18 then the thought of spending the night in the streets of dundee is a little daunting, you know Paul? |

Chris.. no hate there at all.. I do appreciate what you're saying.
I just dont agree with it all, and don't want to have to try and justify this show to anyone.. it's this or nothing. Last edited by paul engage : 16th September 2005 at 09:20 AM. |

I'd say the tit was the one that handed flyers out for a show he hadn't even booked in a desperate attempt to gain some kind of scene cred. |

whatever paul. I actually once thought you were a decent guy. As you have known about this since May, you could have easily said something to me or Mark about you being offered the show and saved me 'looking like a tit'.
Is this really all down to the fact that I made a joke about engage playing? |

Now lets see: Marco mails me and askes me to do the show. (May) Marco mails me again and asks me to do the show. (August) Marco mails me again and asks me to do the show. (September) I accept. 3 times. Hey it's all about pissing Neil off ain't it. It has nothing to do with you - you hadn't booked a show or even spoke to Marco. You don't even come close to figuring in any decision I made. You need to stop taking this whole thing personally- it has nothing to do with you. Moreover for some reason you seem to think I should somehow have some 'loyalty' to you over this show? Gimme a good reason why I should.. Im not asking for any loyalty. Just to be upfront about it. Its nothing to do with you, dundee or engage.
I tried to make an effort to stop 'wee dick' treating champion like shit. If I had known you had been offered it in may then i wouldnt have bothered as i know you treat bands decently. |

I think I'm being as up front as I possibly can be.
Forum 'discussions' that get out of hand I really don't need or have time for- can't everyone just accept that this is where the gig is and leave it at that? I knew there was going to be schism about this - that's why I nearly didn't do it. I don't want to have to put up with posts complaining about this or that, or insinuating that I'm a 'tit' for replying to these posts and stating the same thing time and time again in response. I decided to go ahead with it because they'd probably not be playing up in Scotland otherwise. I don't know the details of the whole Glasgow situation, so don't ask me about that. I stuck my neck out so that they could play up here and would appreciate some positivity instead of a constant barrage of criticism. Was it worth it? I hope people make the effort and start showing some fucking unity, instead of arguing about a situation that has nothing to do with me. |
