Cool gigs up north
Monday 24th October - at the Yorkshire House!!!!!!!
Great Lake Swimmers Great band from Canada. Very much organised at the last minute! Superkings The Headlines Friday 28th October Bearsuit - Boy-girl rock-cutie-killer six-piece – electro disco to riot grrl noise. Envelopes - Charming, skittering, shambling psychedelic experience from Sweden. See review here The Seven Inches Star27 Kr!ss Foster - local legend. Saturday 29th October Scout Niblett - Scout's only northern date AND Todd Trainer from Shellac on drums! Former Bullies - Pavement-esque raw indie Martin Chitty Friday 4th November Veda Hille - Stark, provocative songs from this acclaimed Canadian. Rare non-London date. The Neon Trees - ace Blackpool band reminiscent of Belly/ Tanya Donelly Superkings Uncle Jeff Saturday 5th November Mika Bomb - Japanese punk pop fun The Violets Friday 11th November Persil - Heavenly blend of quirky, intelligent, melody-driven electro-pop. The Chemistry Experiment - Ace Pulp-esque band on Fortuna Pop (Bearsuit's label) Das Wanderlust Friday 18th November Help She Can't Swim - great Fantastic Plastic band not too dissimilar to Bearsuit Dirtblonde - brilliant, just brilliant! Y'r Impossible Friday 25th November - Zombie themed Fancy Dress! Zombina and the Skeltones - Just what a horror garage pop act should be like - and they dress up as zombies too! The V.Cs - Surf rock from Wigan Baby Bitch Cogna Friday 2nd December Hank and Lily - Gloriously weird alt/psychedelic -country-but-altogether-unclassifiable Vancouver-based duo. Thomas Truax - NYC-based anti-folk artist who plays crazy home-made instruments. Played an awesome gig in October - we can't wait to have him back! Misterlee - A great British anit-folk band Friday 9th December - Christmas Party! Misty's Big Adventure - A messy, eclectic, utterly eccentric dollop of brilliant, smile-inducing pop. The Baker Street Irregulars Kr!ss Foster Friday 10th February The Long Blondes Y'r Impossible For more information check out our website |

I went to see Zombina recently at the Doghouse in Dundee. I'm sure it was them. Enjoyable
