Steel Rules Die/The Mercury League/Four Dumb Kids/Between Lines- Sheffield THIS SAT!

SATURDAY 10th DECEMBER AT THE CRICKETER'S ARMS, BRAMALL LANE (OPP SUFC), SHEFFIELD

STEEL RULES DIE (Midlands via London)
Ex members of Anthem of The Century/Silencer 7, Nerves and 67th Morning play outstanding gruff melodic hardcore that proves that bands like Avail, Strike Anywhere and As Friends Rust can exist this side of the pond. Put out an incredible album on Reflections Records in 2004. Back after a long rest with ex-Bivouac/current Wireless Stores man Paul Yeadon on guitar.

THE MERCURY LEAGUE (Sunderland)
Sound like back in '99 when Satanic Surfers were really fast and techy only with a really hardcore edge. They're putting out a split 7" on Bombed Out with The Mercy Suite in early 2006. Great songs, great attitude. Is it melodic hardcore? Is it skate punk? Dunno; it's mint though.

FOUR DUMB KIDS (Sheffield)
Gruff melodic punk rock that we would love to think sounds like Hot Water Music playing Hooton 3 Car songs. Probably sounds more like some lads from the sticks trying to cut it in the Steel City. Our last EP '..Songs About Life in a Northern Town' drew comparisons to Crimpshrine and Against Me! Don't listen; they're way better than us.

BETWEEN LINES (Leeds)
Sound like they're from Leeds via Gainesville only with a more passionate edge than most. Think Panthro Uk United 13 meets Small Brown Bike. A bit screechy, a bit gruff, a bit melodic, a bit good.

£4 donation to the bands' petrol money. First band on at 8. Bring your throat sweets. It would be nice to see you.
