Latterman! - Alpacinos - I Stand Alone - 15 Minutes 20/04/06
Latterman
Brilliant, pure and DIY punk rock From Long Island, NY. What can i say about these guys that has not been said before? - "Combining socially conscious, ready-for-a-sing-along lyrics with straight-ahead 4/4 punk rock, the band are guaranteed to put a smile on the face of even the most jaded street-punker." "Latterman are one of the few bands that actually have something important to say, and say it in a way that makes you think that the solutions are possible to achieve, as opposed to so many sociopolitical bands who fling out problems that need to be faced with out offering any constructive solutions. Latterman is one of the few bands that are worth listening to these days - both musically and lyrically" "With shouted vocals, screaming guitars and pounded drums, "No Matter Where We Go..!" is filled with positive, community-minded, socio-political discussion and delivered with an electrifying, reckless abandon. This is throw-your-fists-in-the-air, dance-around, catchy-as-hell punk rock that's sung from the gut and comes from the heart. But punk never sounded THIS good, nor delivered such a timely message. These songs are flat-out impossible to forget, with captivating singalongs and infectious choruses at every turn. Latterman strikes hard and fast with purpose, conviction, relevance and melodies that keep you smiling from ear to ear. Oh, and they're really friendly guys too. Latterman dedicates this release to positivity, friendship, community and anyone who recognizes and struggles against patriarchy, homophobia, racism, white privilege, alienating wage labor and the world's other flaws. Latterman may not save the world, or even rock and roll, but fuckin' a...they saved me." www.lattermanband.com www.myspace.com/latterman Support from - The Alpacinos Fast, filthy, party punk from Motherwell www.myspace.com/thealpacinos I Stand Alone Melodic hardcore punk from Central Scotland, very much in the vein of Lifetime, Avail, etc. Split 7" with Handgun Bravado out soon. www.istandalone.co.uk 15 Minutes Acoustic, Folk/Punk duo from Dundee with only guitar and throat. not a million miles away from early Against Me but without the abilty to become major label parodies of our former selves. www.quarter-of-an-hour.co.uk this gig is a dream come true. Latterman inspired me in so many ways to start making music again and to just believe in what is important to me. being able to share a stage with them is amazing and i thank Kenny from www.raskolrecords.com for putting on the show and for being cool enough to allow us to play. I have some tickets for this if anyone wants to get one before the gig. Its a fiver for a ticket and well worth it. 20th April 2006 Nice n Sleazy`s, Glasgow 8pm Doors £5 ![]() Last edited by Baz : 1st March 2006 at 11:18 AM. |
