Ragnarok UK Metalfest - Perth, 4th November 2006

Metalism UK & Ragnarok UK Metalfest are very pleased to announce that one of the two special guests to perform at this year’s festival will be none other than Sweden’s longest standing melodic death metal pioneers DARK TRANQUILLITY!

The band will take time out of their recording sessions to grace the inaugural Ragnarok UK festival on Saturday 4th November 2006 at Perth Concert Hall, Central Scotland. The new album will be the follow up to 2004’s critically acclaimed “Character” album. A band with arguably no weak album among their impressive back catalogue are surely not to missed in what will be a rare 2006 performance.

Add this to the only 2006 UK performance of Germanic power legends GAMMA RAY, the ONLY confirmed 2006 appearance so far for Swedish traditional metallers DREAM EVIL as well as debut UK shows from KALMAH, CHARON & CIRCUS MAXIMUS as well as sets from ASTRAL DOORS, ELVENKING, INTENSE & HEADLESS CROSS as well as 1 more band to be confirmed, Scotland’s first REAL heavy metal festival is shaping up to be an event that no metal fan can afford to miss! Black Atom have been confirmed to open the proceedings after winning a closely fought public vote from Scottish fans to determine who, from a selection of 8 fine bands, should kick off the first year’s festivities.

I missed DT, when they played with Chimaira recently, Ive been told they played Pish, but i really wanna see them live, anyone seen them before? if so how were they?

Fucking hell this sounds amazing. I've been a big Dark Tranquility fan for years. Also, seeing something as big as this, as close to us as Perth is pretty cool too.

Well we didn't want to go too massive with the capacity, 1600 was perfect for the first year and the PCH is a stunning venue and will suit the day well we think.

Metalism UK would like to announce the following change to their inaugural Ragnarok UK Metalfest lineup for 2006 to take place at Perth Concert Hall on Saturday 4th November.

Headless Cross have been replaced on the lineup by German pagan influenced melodic death metallars Suidakra.

This decision comes in light of the recent personnel changes made by the former band and due to other contractual terms which this affects. Metalism UK would like to wish Headless Cross well in all their future activies.

Suidakra, whom are releasing a new album in 2006 entitled "Caledonia", a concept album based around the history of Scotland, have been confirmed and will take their place on the lineup which now looks as follows.
