Hair Police + Tarpis Tula + Kylie Minoise08/08/06
Glasgow, Bar Bloc FREE!!! Working with the traditional rock trinity of guitar, bass and drums, as well as power electronics, tape manipulation and oscillators, HAIR POLICE, a trio from Lexington, KY featuring Mike Connelly ofWolf Eyes, build a demonic wall of sound straddling the boundary between thrash metal and industrialnoise. The band have been spewing out a huge back catalogue for legendary labels such as AmericanTapes, Animal Disguise, Chondritic Sound, Hanson and Conelly's own Gods of Tundra imprint and mostrecently the incredible 'Constantly Terrified' album for Troubleman Unlimited freedom-from.com/hairpolice |

Pfft, seems like a couple of other bands are playing the Bloc (well, according to the bloc's myspack page)... Midasuno and The Ocean Fracture. Hopefully they'll be the first casualties of the carnage! Time to kill!

I heard about this through a Volcanic Tongue mailout...
...whats the fucking deal with charging £9.99 for a bloody CDR, they cost less than 10p to make, maybe by the time you pint of a cover 50p |

I wasnt actually meaning Hair Police CDRs(not sure how much their cds are), I just find it insane that the cheapest CDR in the mail out was £7.99.
On a shitter note I managed to let myself get talked into babysitting before I realised that it clashed with this gig |

Yea that's one thing that pisses me off about the 'noise scene'. If it's supposed to be all d.i.y. and punk in attitude, charging stupid amounts for a cdr is just blatantly hypocritical. As Elrrek says, blame Wolf Eyes for it! Before they came onto the scene, you used to be able to pick up cdrs and cassettes for next to nothing. Also blame ebay!

On one hand, yes sdome of the prices are appauling. The culf or merchandise appropriation really is all abit bonkers. But to be honest, having bought some very silly items myself for no reason othert than it was cool (Khanate whisky flask for a non-drinker?) we really only have our selves to blame - lol!

Just noticed an ultra rare six organs of admittance tour CDR for a bargin price of £14.99. I got it wrong the starting price for CDRs in the mailout is £6.99 and not £7.99 as said in previous post, again another bargin.
Yeah but clearly a whisky flask is always worth the money even if you dont drink as it makes you urber cool. |
