Dan Against the World + the Site of Future Rome scottish tour
Hi everyone,
Just to let you know that dan against the world and the site of future rome are starting their scottish summer tour next week. Dan Against the World are a four piece from the north-east of scotland who utilise pop hooks, vocal harmonies and loud guitars in contemporary college rock music. Having played recently with The Pipettes and The Crimea and receiving national airplay from Radio 1s Vic Galloway, Dan Against the World play noisy powerpop music with catchy vocal harmonies and fuzzy synth lines. Think the Beach Boys crossed with Pavement. FAO: Fans of Pavement, Weezer, The Pixies and The Beach Boys The Site of Future Rome are a post hardcore band based in stirling. here's a review from their universal show. Situated in the out-of-the-way Universal venue in a charming Glasgow lane, The Site Of Future Rome, a Stirling-based quintet, begin their set as they mean to go on. A delightful cello melody leads the observant crowd into a raucous bout of distortion with opener "To Communicate Is The Goal, To Inspire At All Costs". I must say, on my previous SOFR experience, I went in expecting to be slightly under-impressed having heard a recording of "To Communicate" and thinking it was the boundary of their talent. How wrong I was. With a good mix of tracks building upon the Godspeed-esque nature of "To Communicate" and medleys that strike resemblance to early Dischord math rock in the vain of Braid and Cursive, The Site Of Future Rome are a delight to listen to for both Post-Rock fans and musicians in general who can appreciate the depth and variety of their arrangements. says it all really!! anyway... here's the tour dates. . 27/07/06 (Mad hatters, Inverness)- Dan Against the World +The Site of Future Rome + support tbc . 28/07/06 (Ocean, Elgin)- Dan Against the World + The Site of Future Rome + Fiction/action + 10 Easy Wishes · 29/07/06 (Angry Mic’s, Perth) - Dan Against the World + The Site of Future Rome + 2 acts TBC · 30/07/06 (The Barfly, Glasgow) - Dan Against the World + The Site of Future Rome + Some Young Pedro · 31/07/06 (The Tunnels, Aberdeen) - Dan Against the World + The Site of Future Rome + Fiction/Action + Parity’s Fall.
