Dundee gig for Poles
ONE OF Poland’s biggest punk-rock bands are to play their first British gig in Dundee next month—seen as tangible evidence of the rapid rise in the country’s Polish community.
Around 1000 nationals are expected to flock to Deja-Vu nightclub in the city centre for the show a week on Saturday.
The event has been organised by Tomasz Zalewscy, owner of Zall, the Polish delicatessen in Victoria Road.
He revealed how he was prompted to make attempts to secure the band by the sheer volume of Poles now living in Scotland.
Tens of thousands of his countrymen have arrived since the last European Union expansion in 2004.
Describing the band, Tomasz said, “This is the only concert they are playing here and will be the first time they have been to Britain to play.”
Tickets can also be purchased at Zall and Grouchos in Dundee, or at the Polish Club in Kirkcaldy.
