Drouthy Neebors Dundee - Looking to get back on the music scene!

Type of Event: Gig Venue
Location: Dundee

Hey all.

Just thought i'd take the time out to let you all know that drouthy's has come under new management.

At the moment we're looking to generally improve standards and hopefully in the not to distant future get a refurb.

However, our main focas is to relaunch the place as a live music venue.

Drouthy's used to be known as a good live music venue a few years back, but its getting harder to find places in dundee to gig.

Anyway, have had various events through january and at the moment looking to fill up february with any interested parties.

Cheers.

Kev

Drouthy Neebors Manager.

This would be the perfect venue for Step On It in May.

Yuss!

ok cool. Let me get the venue properly sorted out and i'll be in touch about sponsoring yourselves.

Had a chat with hometown zero today and got those guys penned in for march.

Awesome start!!

With regards to drouthies dropping gigs in the past, was alot to do with the previous management couldnt be arsed with it, however i feel its essential to support the up and coming music scene by providing decent gig venues.

Anyway guys, got a busy weekend so i'll pop by again sunday

Awesome!
Some of my Drouthies highlights over the years include the Damn Quails, MTS and Cayto back in the day, Perineum and MTS a couple of summers ago and Spyamp and Jesus Enterprise in 2004. It's a great place to play and has been out of action for way too long.

Drouthys was jumping that night! We'd seen them In Glasgow on the Friday and Edinburgh on the Saturday and Dundee ended up being the most mental night of the three.

People who have played Drouthies.....

Snow Patrol
Gerils
Peeps into Fairyland
Ma Cherie For Painting
The Microphones
Ghost Mice
Macrocosmica
Tank
Usurper
Frogpocket
Random Number
Laeto.....

That's just a TINY list of the dozens and dozens of bands who have played there.

I genuinely believe it to be the best venue in Dundee.

It was the latter part of 2000. The piggy back fight was perhaps not the best idea bearing in mind the hight of the ceiling.

Good news that there will be gigs on there, shows there have a nice cozy atmosphere and it's only 5 minutes from my flat :-)

I think the quality of music this venue has hosted in the past and the reponse people are showing here is testament to the quality of this venue. This is good news for the area and Dundee music as a whole. I've been to a few gigs there previously, not as many as some of you, but those gigs that I did see I thoroughly enjoyed.
