A festival of music awaits at the Plough Inn in Forfar as the venue hosts it's quarterly live band showcase on Saturday 1st September. Forfar Rocks 3 has six hours of live music from a five act line-up, kicking off with new Dundee/Kirriemuir rock trio Tick the Box, Stonehaven's guitar genius Gerry Jablonski, Glasgow New Wave rockers The Storm Society featuring Forfar guitarist and vocalist Andy Glen, Scotland's AC/DC Tribute act Volts and finishes with the crowd pleasing classic rock covers of Dundee band Independence.

The Storm Society are in the area to do a music video for their 2nd single on an Angus beach over the weekend, and were persuaded to appear in the festival, Forfar being guitarist Andys home town. Their first single gained excellent reviews from the quality music press who liken them from everything from The Smiths and Joy Division to Bowie and The Editors. Gerry Jablonski has been the front man in several band line-ups over 25 years, even supporting Status Quo and Bryan Adams on the Scottish leg of their tours in the late 90's. He is oft voted Best Solo Act by audiences at festivals across the country e.g. Dundee Blues Bonanza, Orkney Blues Festival. AC/DC fans in the area will welcome back Volts to the area after their fabulous headlining set at Kirriemuirs now annual Bon Scott homeage weekend this May. They will be offering all the early classic songs from the Scots born Aussie rock band. Independence should finish the night with party favourite rock tunes to get the crowd on the dancefloor, usually to be joined by the bands table-hopping kilted frontman!
