Dundee Doghouse 25 band weekender.
The Doghouse Dundee would like to present a weekend of free music on the 2nd -4th November 2007.
The brainchild of eccentric band booker, Jonathan Dawson; the band weekender looks to showcase the best of Scottish music in Scotland’s most happening city.
To ensure a good mix of music was put on offer Jonathan enlisted the help of some of the most influential people in Scottish Music, allowing them to select the bands between them.
The panel consisted of:
• Vic Galloway – Radio Scotland presenter and presenter of Radio 1 in the nations. Vic has a reputation of spotting some of Scotland’s best talent and playing it well before everybody else.
• Jim Gelleaty – XFM Scotland’s exposure presenter. Jim has changed the Scottish music scene since beginning his Exposure show on XFM. Jim has been very supportive of the Dundee scene and has showcased The Law, The View and Luva Anna to name a few.
• Grant Dickson – Manger of The view and proprietor of local label 2thumbs. Grant has been pushing the Dundee scene for years and has been involved in music for longer than we can remember.
• Paul Grieve – Manager of The Law. Paul clearly demonstrates a good ear for music picking up the local legends and pushing them on with their career.
• Craig McGee - Craig has made a name for himself in the Glasgow music scene with his club nights in firewater. He is also the booker for legendary venue, king tuts. If that wasn’t enough he manages up and coming band Hi 5 Alive as well.
The line up is attached and includes all the Dundee bands as well as the best of bands from Fife, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The weekend is not just indie based either with bands like Descartes and broken records really mixing up the genres.
The Doghouse has agreed to wave the door fee to ensure the best exposure for the bands.

Quotes:
Jim – “As a Dundonian I'm delighted to see the scene in my home city really take off in the past year or so, and The Doghouse has pretty much been the hub of it all. It's brilliant to get involved in an event like this, especially since I've been featuring so many of the acts on my radio show."
Paul Grieve – “It was good of the Doghouse to ask me to be involved. It gives me a chance to show Dundee some of the music I have been treated to when on the road. It also allowed me to pick bands that were not from Dundee or the usual suspects. I hope it’s a great weekend.”
Johnny – “This is really exciting for me to be organising all this. It also brings lots of new young talent into the venue, if you know what I mean. So it does…”
