I'm getting really fucked off with gigs saying "doors 8pm" that have the first band on at 9:30pm.

Note to promoters: not all the people who go along to gigs are students with lectures that start at 12 the next day.

One of the best gigs I've seen in Dundee in recent times! Bullet Hell kicked out the 'jams' and great to see Spyamp going again. Geisha were soooooooo heavy and noisy! Braw.

True but then again it's pretty shit to go on and play when there's no audience.

Aye, but with curfews usually in place that would mean all the band's sets would suffer and have to be cut short.

Don't get me wrong. I would of prefered it if it had gone to plan too because I had to get up for work at 5am but unfortunately these things are to be expected.

I think he means, doors at 2100, first band on 2130. Or such like. Doors at 2000, then first band on at 2130 can seem like a long time.

I like to know what time the first band is going to be on.

But most folk are so used to turning up an hour or more after doors open time, that it's be a hard habit to break.

if we want to break the habit of people turning up an hour after doors expecting the first band to wait on them then the way to do it is to let them repeatedly miss the first bands by turning up late.

As for making money from drinks, if the westie was concerned by that they would have actually put someone on the bar upstairs (and paid for some light bulbs, and made the gents not a fucking dump, and used plaster to fix the gaping holes on the wall, and cleaned up the paint all over the carpet - I think the Westie is a dump, can you tell)

Thanks to everyone for coming down on Tuesday night & to the bands who were all brilliant! Props to Geisha for being FUCKING LOUD!

The plan was to have an early show as it was a school night & most of us had to be up early for work the next day. Unfortunately, this didn't work out due to some delays...was still a fun night though.
