first flash movie

I tried making a flash movie but some people are complaining that it isn't displaying correctly on their machines. Shouldn't flash movies display the same in all browsers?

www.pointoforiginrock.com

It's my first attempt with this program and I really dunno why it would be wrong.

just looking at it i dunno exactly what problems u r having with regards t display but obvious ones i spotted is the "n" in origin is chopped of kinda and when you go to the main site it is very much to the left of the screen, is it meant to be like that if it is im not a fan even tho the site is cool, im unsure of what the problem could be tho! sorry!

The main site aint the problem. It's supposed to sit at the left of the screen.

Does anyone know what would cause the clipping of the letter "n"? Should I convert the text to a symbol or what?

I haven't got any problems with the flash file and I don't see any 'N' being cropped or chopped.

Always convert bitmaps and text to symbols. Its easier in the long run.

The only thing I can think of is that people have an older version of the flash plugin installed.

If you are only creating simple flash animations i suggest you publish it as version 5.

Thanks for your help guys, I finally figured out what was going wrong. I was using a non websafe font in my flash animation. I didn't realise that you had to do this in flash. In the end I converted my text to graphics and now it works fine.

Thanks tho!

you could be really geeky and convert the fonts in illustrator to outline and import that in your movie as a vector graphic, reducing size of the movie considerably
