Comments on my site...?

ok, been making sites for a while now...
this was the first things i ever made with flash... the details are a little out of date :P

i like your band site the best. The eviltwin one has horrific sound effects that left my ears bleeding. lol. The bmyhomepage one is a good concept, just needs some work cleaning it up a bit.

I should also remind you that flash sites should have html version also, to increase accessibility

the sounds on the eviltwin one are really nice actually... the only way they could be ear-bleeding is if you had the volume at a ridiculous volume (in my opinion)...

and i don't really mind about the html versions... my theory is that if someone doesn't have flash and tries to view the site then some of them will download flash, thus furthering the cause... :P

all new computers/browsers have flash installed now, so I'm happy with just flash, since it's not an ecommerce site or message board site.

i do agree in principal tho... just cant be bothered for a band website etc :P

put your earphones in, then listen to music, then click on a link to your site and ooyah fucker, it almost pearced my eardrums. lol.

Granted your reasoning for using flash only is legitimate... but blind people wont be able to use it without a proper html equivallent

I agree that the band site is the best but the sounds???? sounds on websites should be banned. It's worse when they run out of sync on mouseovers. Also music on sites should also be banned, serves no purpose ( and the turn music off button only works until the music loop comes back round).

To be honest flash is a relly good tool but you could have done all of it in HTML and javascript and then everyone can view it without any downloading.

Once other negative comment is that it would be better if you didn't open a new window for the links in top window. It's maybe personal but I hate it when a site opens new windows everywhere ( unless you write some code to clear them up after).

Other than that I like the design and I like the simple color scheme.

i dislike music on sites but dont mind small noises on buttons etc... personal preference i guess. The music on the eviltwin site annoys me everytime i go there, but i can't be bothered changing it... thats if i even still have the original flash files for it... first designed it over a year and a half ago...

and i know what you mean about the opening in a new window thing... i try and steer clear of that now :P

as far as doing it in html and javascript... yeah i could have but wheres the fun in that :P i did lots of that in university computing courses, and if i follow my preferred career as an IT consultant in London i'll be doing it again right from the first week of training... only I'll be being paid for it then :P

flash doesn't hurt my brain like coding does... I'm more of the arts kind. I'm a selfish web designer...

You're right flash is fun but I'm one of these sad IT professionals who spend so long doing designs and functional specs that i actually relish in getting stuck into some code and actually enjoy it.........probably because I'm paid.

Thankfully the boss also wants us to do flash MX and integrate it with coldfusion.Makes flash 5 look shit to be honest. I could get all excited here but I am vain and image concious and don't want to come across as a nerd. But Flash design mixed with real programming............bliss.
