does anyone use XBOX LIVE? i was wondering if i can connect it to the cable modem connection i have at home. Its blueyonder. Is it just a case of pluging the cable into the back of the xbox from the back of the pc and connecting that way? or do i have to notify blueyonder or something? I wanna play Halo and Unreal Tournament online cos i used to kick ass at UT and Quake and wanna get back in the rythmn of tings.
Even better, is anyone here a frequent net player using the xbox?

Ermm... I'm not sure how you find it out, but I think you'll need to register the MAC address of your Xbox with blueyonder. I know that if you want to connect a new PC to blueyonder, you need to register the mac address.
I just got Xbox live this week, but I'm connecting to the internet through a router, cause I'm sharing the connection with my flatmate. That works fine, all I had to do was register the MAC address of the router with blueyonder, switch off the cable modem, connect the router to it, and switch it back on. You won't be able to play Halo through Xbox live, as it's not live enabled. Halo 2, on the other hand, will be live enabled. You can play Halo online using a program called Xbconnect, but I've never tried, so I'm not sure how well it works. |

I've got Blueyonder and xbox live.
You go to the settings bit on your xbox (while there's no game in) and in one of the options there should be a MAC number written in the bottom left hand corner. it goes MAC-5568728 etc etc. It's all here, http://www.blueyonder.co.uk/blueyond...connected.html I've not been on xbox live in quite a while. I used to play castle wolfenstein on it all the time. |
