Right, erm, invisible CD drive or something?
I just noticed today for some reason i have a "new" CD/DVD drive in my computer, well, my computer thinks I do, but i dont.
It's showing up in the hardware manager as this : ************************************************** AVX CD/DVD-ROM SCSI CdRom Device Device Type : DVD/CD-ROM drives Manufacturer : (Standard CD-ROM drives) Location : Bus Number 0, Target ID 0, LUN 0 Status : This device is working properly. If you are having problems with this device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter. ************************************************** I'm newish to XP and have no fucking idea how this got here or what it is, but also today, my puter crashed, and wouldnt start again, until I took a dvd out of the dvd drive, then it worked fine, crashed again, and would, again, only start up after I took out the dvd. Any ideas ? ? ? ![]() |

if it annoys you, just set it to not use the device and it wont show up. I think mine has one that isn't real...
************************* AVX CD/DVD-ROM SCSI CdRom Device Device Type : DVD/CD-ROM drives Manufacturer : (Standard CD-ROM drives) Location : Bus Number 0, Target ID 0, LUN 0 Status : This device is disabled. (Code 22) Click Enable Device to enable this device. ************************* Exactly the same as yours... strange, I never really thought twice about where it came from, just disabled it. Does the DVD thing happen for all DVDs or just one? I have no idea what it is though. |
