Halo 2 in the XBOX magazine

Well all i can say is ......................
Simply superb, the screen shots that are provided of teh main game are amazing, the amount of different enemies you get now, or variation on old ones, like the hunter is fat- plus you get a thiner faster version. It also came above Half Life 2 in the First person shooter category at the most wanted uk games awards.

Here are some of the comments made- "Some of the best graphics and art in videogame history. A fascinating and unforgettable sci-fi vision" then we have " The AL is so entertaining in its own right, you almost don't have to play the game to enjoy it. Watching enemies fight is brilliant fun."

Ever Covenant vehicle has a boost function, so the faster the better.

Weapons are, Sub-machine gun, Battle rifle, Magnum, Fixed turret, Plasma Rifle, Needler, Sniper Rifle, Rocket launcher and PLASMA SWORD.

And yet i read on. You can now do proper stunts in the banshee, and you can explode the vehicles by crashing them aswell as by getting shot. Also there a more types of Elites, that the magazine lost count. Elites and grunts can now climb into debris to get a vantage point on you and jump huge obsticles with their evil alien bloodlust.

I still don't see what all the fuss is about. Every single feature that console monkeys keep shouting about has been done before in other games. Hell even the bloodlust thing was done in Warcraft 2 (admittedly didnt make them jump higher)

I'll probably still play Halo 2 cos even tho the original was very simple, it did have a good storyline and co-op mode was pretty good.

To sum up, im not too excited about the features but i should provide at least an hour of fun.

no, i respect your oppinion, if you don't like the game, i can't make you, its just the way life goes.

Its going to shine online. I am looking forward to single player, but instead of completing it on all modes like I did with the original, I'll spend the rest of my time online. So i'll probably only complete it once.

Apparently the single player experience is very short lived, ending with a badly placed cliffhanger ending for the inevitable sequel.
Funnily enough any internet group on microsofts mailing list was given strict instructions on what they could actually say about the game before release ( anyone else get the feeling we are getting a substandard product)

you can also jump on ghosts while an emey is driving it and kick them off so u can drive it

NO, the single player has 13 levels and all are massive, take about an hour each, so the magazine says.

It looks good but it's sooooo slow! there's a bit at the start when u'r moving down tunnels and it takes aaaaaagggggeeeeesssss. it gets very dull. also my mate finished it and apparently the story line is really similar to the first game. multiplayer's pretty cool though and i liked the fact that u can use to guns at once now.

it's a good game but i wouldn't get to excited. It's being extermally over hyped
but then i wasn't sold on the 1st one either

Got my copy already. All I can say is, WOW!
Single player really stands out as easily the greatest alien blasting experience ever. The levels are pretty big too.
I'd say 9/10
However, XBox Live on it = 10/10
Masterchief seems a tad faster now and the ability to nail your mates with dual weilding needlers is always fun. Vehicles take loads of damage, and graphically, its almost as pleasing as Doom 3. There are times when you do get a small bit of background 'pop-up', but it doesnt impare gameplay at all. Best game of 2004, EASILY!!

one thing though, are the multi levels big or small?

The multiplayer levels are pretty big. Good size for 16 player at least. And there are two levels which are kinda new versions of original Halo ones. I also heard that if you complete the game on its hardest setting, you unlock a new multiplayer level.
