playstation2 vs xbox
Okay I miss having some sorta games console since the death of my playstation aaaaaaggggeeessss ago - although I meant to, I didn't ever get round to buying anything to replace it. So now, due to my ever increasing boredom at home I figure I should buy something else to keep me occupied. Either an Xbox or Playstation 2. Some people say PS2s are better then someone else turns round and says that the xbox is better and to be honest I don't really know which one I want! What one would say say you is better + why? What should I spend my hard earned cash on?

The xbox hardware is a lot better. The only reason you'd pick a PS2 over an Xbox, is that the PS2 has slightly more games, and it always gets the games first. It's a valid enough reason, but I personally prefer to wait a bit longer to get games with better graphics, and more detail.

i also prefer the x-box because of the hardware that it has and the better graphivs....although it has been stated above that the ps2 does have slightly more games....it doesn't mean that they are better games

ps2 by far. simply on the fact that the controllers for the xbox are astronomically huge, ridiculous. ps2s look better 2
plus you can get one these days thats almost the size of a dvd case! amazing. i have, however, heard that at the moment ps2's are very hard to get a hold of... |

I think you exagerate the size difference
![]() I prefer the xbox controllers, especially the "S" ones that are smaller and much easier to use, i find PS2 ones far too tempromental aswell ![]() |

if i had an xbox right now i would be on the pigs back because the prices have seemed to have bottomed ouy for the XBOX and remaining steady for PS2 ... altho someone said to me that u need something extra for xbox for dvds but anyway ... my PS2 is fantastic and the new slim ones are even cooler

ummm...
at the end of the day dont you want games that you can play for ages over what they look like? therefore just look for which one has more games youd want to buy/play now...
simple solution ![]() and as for dvd player stuff etc, isnt that past the purpose of a games console? i remember when all you needed was a cartridge reader....happy days ![]() |

Yeah, as i said, Xbox S controllers are ace
![]() Altho, you do kinda need the xbox dvd remote and reciever, it will play dvd's if they autorun (without having it), but you dont have any control, you cant use a controller to do anything with the dvd playback, unlike the PS2, but ive found the XBox is a hell of a more compitent DVD player, my brother has a PS2, and it plays alot of DVDs with no sound, or only in black and white, or just totally fucks up the picture, all ive had with my xbox is some slight shaking at parts in one region 0 dvd |

My friend has a PS2, and I've not seen any problems with DVD playback.
Yeah it is shit that you have to buy the remote to get DVD playback on an Xbox. I suppose the remote is something you'd want anyway though. |
