16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem Error

i get this trying to run old games like civ 2 and syndicate wars under xp


anyone else had this and how did you fix it

never seen it before. Try right clicking the .exe for the game and going to the compatibility tab and try out different settings. First thing i'd try is sticking it in compatibility mode for win95.
