... is best for this... if you have a latest version of photoshop it comes with it, basically what you do is create your frames for the animation and put these in to a folder. make sure you number the frames in the order that you want them to appear in, for example
Then load up image ready and go to import and select import folder as frames. This will bring your images into the time line and from the time line you can change the order they are played in and even create simple transition effects then save it as a give. i think its export or save as ![]() thats the way i do it. not sure if there is another way, most likely there is, but i recommend using imageready, because it optimises the outputted animation ready for web use.

if yo udo it in flash, you may as well keep the flash file since its prolly gonna be smaller in size when optimized, but aye, you could do it that way if a gif was necessary.
But if he wanted cool effects, ImageReady is alot simpler to use if he doesn't have flash effects.

You should try out Animation Shop by Jasc it comes free with Paint Shop Pro and is very easy to use. It's also how i make my wee allergo avatars.

God dammit my avatar wont move
I must be doing something wrong Ive got it moving in Image ready but what do i do after that, what do i save it as? it only lets me save it as some psd thing in image ready.Last edited by Master Eiko : 22nd April 2003 at 01:21 PM. |

in image ready, after you have the images changing, go to File -> Save Optimised As -> type in a name and make sure you select .GIF as the file type, and then save.
and that should be it.
