Virus?

I reckon i've got a virus through something. It changed all my dates on the PC so the year was apparently 7705, which made my anti-virus programs go crazy and want updates. Also when i tried to start up my anti-virus/firewall/spyware remover it shut them down and said it needed to send an error report, i then try to access the net, AOL would connect and as soon as i connected AOL just closed and said 'sorry for the inconvience' and wouldnt restart up. So i restarted and everything seems to work fine now? ran ad-aware and virus removal software, it apparently picked up on a few proccesses called 'Lop' or something, so got rid of them, will my PC be okay now?

Damn viruses!

yup my old pc got fucked with a couple viruses, im still to reformat it and see if i can get it back running

and i had norton anti virus shit on my pc : (

hope it doesn't need re-formatted! so much beloved music on here, plus plenty of coursework too. Time to back it up!

you havent installed msn 7.0 by any chance?> thats what seemd to get all the viruses on mine

Don't say that! Ive just installed it!, computer seems ok though...so far, better back up everything later

honestly mine went nuts a wee while after installing it, wouldnt let me install anything else, messenger went tits up basically and i got shit loads of virus attacks and a few got in and wasted my pc

have a nice sony vaio pc now though so its sort of all good!

but im still to do the reformatting on the old(er) pc as im not just wanting to chuck it out

If i remember right the Lop stuff is mainly spyware, i had a pile of it on my old pc

aye i did just get messenger 7.0, the PC was fine before that! Everything seems to be okay just now. On the safe side i'm just gonna run plenty of virus/spyware check-ups and make sure their databases are up to date.
