DVD Problems

ok for some reason only know to itself my DVD player has crackling in the audio when it plays them, yet for somereason it likes my Simpsons DVD's without any problem but all my others have this really irratating crackling on them.
ive re-installed powerDVD and my audio drivers and still no problem.
anyone think my onboard sound just cant handle dvd's and im lucky with the simpsons or any better ideas?
ANY ideas would be welcome cuz ive tried a lot of stuff that just hasnt worked..

p.s the drive worked fine on my old system and now its been all upgraded...

Could be your speakers. have you got a spare set? Also consider getting a cheap PCI sound card. You might be able to pick up one for £15 that does a decent job, better than most onboard.

depends what type of onboard it is dev... anything with SS2 or later is far better than a SBLive.

I'd guess motherboard drivers or something
