I-River problems

My I-river has started flipping out recently. When I press one of the buttons it'll do a completely different thing and occaisionally when I'm listening to an album it'll play complete a random track from another album or folder when it's not on shuffle.

Anyone else had problems?

my flatmates iriver is acting in a similar manner, occasionally the button will be totally no-responsive and it may switch itself to different songs.

i think he returned it and swapped it for the new song one.

Did the warranty let him do that? Mines a bit fucked so I didn't think they'd take it back.

try upgrading the firmware by downloading the new software from the iriver site and following the upgrade process. Sounds more like a software issue than a hardware one.

yeah, thats more useful than my reply. with my ipod i have to check for new software occasionaly, so it might be the same case with the iriver. yeah, his original shop receipt entitled him to get another item of the same value as irivers were out of stock.

no problem, thats the good thing about having a piece of kit that allows upgrades to the firmware. i love my iriver; its been ages since i used it tho :'(

what model do you have?

Im looking at getting the H340 soon, and everywhere i have read about it people have always said to update the firmware as soon as they get it, i take it must be a well known problem you were looking at

Bar that, have you had any other problems with it? (curiosity)

Nope, never had anything to complain about with mine.

Good battery life, plays most kinds of file, can use it as portable storgage for absolutely anything, copy pictures directly from your digital camera....oh and it isn't doesnt look shit and break after ten minutes like an I-pod. Whats not to like about i-rivers?
