well this game is a first person shooter, the dark forces series always has been, the inclusion of the saber doesnt mean it has to be used, i can still hold my own with a saber but REAL JEDI USE GUNS TOO!!!!

I see where your coming from but playing it like that doesn't make it much different from other multiplayer games that use the Q3 engine.
When I play this online I prefer playing in saber only servers mainly due to that reason (but also because I can't handle the lag i get with lasers flying everywhere).

shiny daemon, i challenge you, 1 v 1 w/ guns and force, u can use the sabar all u like, and force push too,

a little friendly game?

burny to activate the cheats press this :

SHIFT and the key to the left of the '1' key, dunno what its called, and my keyboard is different from most.

now you'll see the command console, in here type

HELPUSOBI 1

remeber the space between helpusobi and the '1'

that activates the cheats.

some cheats:

sabercolor red
sabercolor green
sabercolor purple
sabercolor orange
sabercolor blue

npc spawn reborn
npc spawn rebornboss
npc spawn rebornfencer
npc spawn reborngideon
npc spawn stormtrooper
npc spawn tyrion
npc spawn desann
npc spawn shadowtrooper
npc spawn luke
npc spawn lando
npc spawn jedi
npc spawn jeditrainer

the above commands will spawn the enemy you type in, for you to fight agaisnt, or to fight with you (depends on if its a goody or a baddy) you can start attacking luke or lando too, but they'll start fighting back. or you can type notarget, so the enemy ignores you, then spawn like 10 lukes, and 10 desaans and watch them fight.

anyway other commands:

giveall - gives you all the guns, all health, and all items.

setforceall 5

this gives you full force levels on all forces, and by setting it to 5 you gain 2 extra saber stances (tyrions and desaan's i think) and when yo uuse mind trick it lets you see through the person you tick's eyes.

more...

noclip - walk thorugh walls

notarget - enemy ignores you

god - loadsa energy

giveforce - fills your force up again.

what you can do, is bind a key to do any of these things, so you dont have to activate the console and type in each commnand so say you have a spare key like the 'x' key, then you'd type this:

bind x npc spawn rebornboss

now everytime you press x another reborn will apear, this can be mucho fun, try spawning 6 reborns and fighting them all.

it doesnt have to be 'x' but ill use this for the examples, just use whatever spare keys u got.

try as well

bind x taunt

bind x victory

bind x giveforce

bind x giveall

oh and g_saberrealisticcombat 6000

type that then watch those limbs fly!!

g_saberrealisticcombat 0 to set it back to normal i think.

have a key bound to activate the cheats, so u dont have to type it in each game, once yo uhave bound a key, itll stay bound to that function until you change it.

bind x helpusobi 1 < press x to activate cheats.

Heh heh, sounds like fun but unfortunately ever since I upgraded my computer my connection's been acting up and I haven't been able to play games online for quite some time now

Fortunately BT have finally decided to get their arse in gear and bring broadband to my area so hopefully I'll be ok to play again soon.

Heh heh you can count on it, although don't think for a minute I won't hesitate to use guns.
I may have denounced them earlier but if they're available I'll gladly use them along with the lightsaber if and when the time is right
