iPOd battery meter...

...don't believe it!

i put mine on at night when it had aparently no power left, the thing was completely empty...balls to it! i got 8 hours out of it when it was supposed to be dead

lucky you, i get the exact opposite.

charge it for hours, get halfway up my street and it cuts out on me. all hail technology.

nah they're crap and the above tales are so very true!

i charged mine overnight, got 45 mins worth out of it in the morning, then it cut out on me when i left work and it hadn't been on for 8 hours! so it works both ways!

plus the sound quality is rather poor, and the headphones provided are awful! if you're spending that much on something you'd think they'd be kind enough to provide something half decent.

when the battery in mine finally decides to die (it seems to keep changing its mind!) i shall be buying another brand!

(although a mate showed me his new ipod video and its stunning)

ipods are ok but over-rated and too expensive. the headphones are a bit pish like. the software is crap too but not as bad as the sony software!

irvers are good, which decent software but the battery life on those is negotiable too...

I like my ipod, never had any problem what so ever with the battery in both of the ipods ive had.
Whats wrong with the ipod software? It does everything it needs to do. Upload songs and then puts them onto the ipod.

Irivers are ugly and for ugly people.

I just got a Nano at christmas and iv luckily had no problems with it yet.The only thing that sometimes happens is the volume goes down when its in my pocket but its not that often.

A guy in my band has the video one wich is quality,he has most South Park episodes on it so its a great way to pass time.The only downside is that its far too big for my liking.

its funny actually, i use an apple 15" powerbook, with itunes, and a 20GB ipod via firewire400. Everything works seamlessly and extremely fast, and funnily enough my battery life is still excellent (updating your ipod with appleupdater actually lengthens your battery life by improving and streamlining the ipods OS for more economic power usage) using apple products together works best- FACT. Don't have an apple? invest! don't have no money? sucks to be you guy!

Gemo - i too have an ipod but ive had a few problems with it.

Itunes is good for playing music and putting tunes onto your ipod. thats usually all i need it for but have you ever tried getting tunes off your ipod onto your pc? its a pain in the arse. and you can't do it through itunes.

No i have never tried to, never needed to.

I put cd in computer, load itune, put music onto ipod, and then listen to music. Its all i need my ipod to do.

i use the plugin for winamp to sort that out

i just bought the 30Gb video iPod today as a replacement for eth one that got bumped on friday...works fantastic, im well impressed! i noticed though that the insurance you get now doesnt cover the battery going tits up!
