PHBB boards

Might sound thick but iam having a bit of trouble setting one of these up.I have downloaded all the files etc onto my hardrive and unzipped them etc.Where do i go from here?I thought it would be as simple as modifying the board to your specs etc then sticking it up on a host server etc.

Iam totally stuck, anyone got any experience using these?

Cheers

there should be an instruction file in there somewhere. Essentially these things come with a config file which you modifiy to suit your server, i.e.. setting up database username, password, database name, contact email and a few other things. Then you upload the whole shebang to your webserver, which must have php running if its a php based bulletin board. Then you usualy have to point your browser to the install file and install it through a web browser.

While I'm not an expert on the subject, I have manually set up a phpBB before, so give me a shout if you still have problems.

Depends on what kind of webspace you have. If your host doesn't allow databases, then you are fucked.

Most web providers these days provide built in message boards etc, check with your hosting.
