May I recomend that if any of you use the web to aquire torrents, illegal mp3s or anything remotely suspect you steer well fucking clear of Del.icio.us.

Why? As far as I know there are no privacy issues because there is no client installed on your computer so there is no tracking facility. The only thing it records are the bookmarks you select to file.

sorry, to clarify, don't delicious any NON-PUBLIC tracker/mp3/n00dz sites that you have a specific login/pwfor as it brings needless attention to your site and the admins will find you, delete your account and send you aids in the mail.

So really there is no privacy issue because its a social bookmarking website. If you dont want people to know what you go to look at then don't bookmark those websites with it, just bookmark em in your browser. Makes sense right?

In saying that though people do use Del.icio.us as a Torrent tracker.

jajaja, but if you get to rely on it and use it a ton you can easily slip and forget... which has seen people get canned from l33t sites for a simple mistake.

Exactly. If you are part of any 'elite' torrent sites then you should know better than to bookmark it anywhere but on your local machine. It's nothing to do with privacy issues, just stupidity issues.
