XP on Intel Mac using Boot Camp software
I have to say I'm pretty excited about this. Apple are playing their cards right. It's an interesting article and it sounds like the Boot Camp software which enables XP to be installed a run on an Intel Mac is working pretty well and effectively without any flaws. Remember this isn't emulation its actually dual booting in OS and XP.

That really is an interesting state of affairs and it looks like XP runs pretty well (considering its Window's
)I could see it being handy for all sorts of occupations. Mines included. |

Bollocks to that, I'm sure this probably runs pretty well, but you're always going to be better off running a piece of software on the hardware it was designed for.

Too right. Any major piece of software is fucking complicated. When you run it on hardware that it isn't designed for, or tested on, then there's always some element of risk.
I don't see why people have such a major boner for apple, to the extent that they'd want them to win out over PCs. I can understand the whole "they're designed better" thing... but the fact is taht PCs have many faults, but they're still an open system, which means that there's competition, and they're a fuckload cheaper. If Apple became the predominant system over PCs, then you'd be paying through the nose every time you wanted to get a new computer. This is not a good thing. It'd be like saying that everytime you buy clothes, you have to buy an Armani suit. Last edited by humndislocation : 9th April 2006 at 01:56 AM. |

Remember that not all non-Apple PC users use Windows, the vast majority do but those that are more tech savy will look at alternatives depending on what their requirements are. You're such a mac wannabe
