Norton Ghost/Harddrive Cloning
Im buying a new HD for my computer soon, and was thinking about getting norton ghost or a similar program that allows hard drive cloning (so i dont need need to copy everything from the old one and start from scratch)
Was just wondering if cloning will work taking information from a 200Gb HD and copying it to a 36 Gb HD? I know some programs have problems with copying the disc image to a different sized drive, but how does ghost handle it? Or does anyone suggest any different programs for doing this? Cheers - Will |

Mean the other way around about what? 200Gb HD onto a 36Gb HD ? Nope, im getting a WD 36Gb raptor HD, and want to have windows and most of the programs on that drive, using the older slower 200Gb drive for basic file storage
Ill look into maxBlast, as Ghost doesnt seem to have the best reputation! |

I use MaxBlast too. But I think you can only use it for Maxtor Drives. I may be wrong though. |

Hmm, it says there must be at least one maxtor ATA drive installed for it to work, so i wonder if it would work (the 200Gb drive i have is a Maxtor DM9), and would be shifting it onto the 36GB raptor . . . hmm, i may give this a shot actually . . . cheers
