new hard drive help please??

i just got a new hard drive for my computer and since i dont have a windows xp disk (the computer came pre-installed) i need to know how to transfer all the stuff to the other one as the old one is going in the bin since it is a "shitty little 4gb thingy" i tried to just move the stuff but its being a bitch. help please???

what make of hard drive is it?

if its a maxtor you can use maxblast.

Put both discs in and setup Norton Ghost.

That has a 'clone' feature under the advanced tools, or something, that lets you move the entire contents of one disc onto another, including the boot records.

Once you've run that (it will reboot, and run a little Ghost gui to copy the data) you can switch the discs round, so your new one is the primary master, and it should boot from that.
