XBox Live setup via computer.

I have had an Xbox for like 2 months now and still haven't set up live. Mainly cos if I am gonna do it, it won't be with the cable, cos it's too short to reach my phone socket (and also my parents aren't happy about me having a huge cable running through the house) so as an alternative I was gonna do it through my computer and subsequently through its wireless dongle.

My mate has done this already, yet he says he had to get his dad (who is some form of IT/computer tech guy) to do it, because it's pretty difficult to set up. If anyone knows how to do it and would like to advise me how to do it that'd be amazing, alternatively a HIGHLY COHERENT/COMPLETE walkthrough about how to do it would do. LOLZ.

It's not difficult at all. you just need to write down the wireless key for your router and enter that when it asks you. I did it in about 20 minutes. If I could remember exactly what i did i would say, but it this was the only thing that seems to be significant.

Yeah, it's not really that difficult to do. Just follow the manuals and you'll be fine.

My Xbox is connected through wireless, and it works fine, apart from the fact that my router is an unreliable piece of shit that randomly kicks me off every so often, for no reason at all.

I'm wanting to hook my XBox to my PC first though, is that what you guys have done? fuck shelling out 70 buck for an XBox Wireless Connnector! Unless you mean you can actually hook up and wireless connector to your XBox?! Which would be amazing.

You can connect it to your PC if you use "internet connection sharing".
You can connect wireless straight to your Xbox if you have a wireless bridge, or buy the Xbox wireless adapter. (This is assuming you have something wireless to connect it to, like a router, of course)
