help + tomb raIder anniversRY

First of all id like to say that this game (what iv played anyway) is fucking brilliant, I know there will be tonnes of skeptics due to laras performances as of late but I can assure you that this new title is fantastic, its a bizzare feeling playing it as its fresh and familiar at the same time due to the re-invented levels of tomb raider 1 but Id reccomend it which brings me to my problem, I d/l the TR:A demo for my sisters laptop and it generally plays fine until your in a wide open area then it starts to suffer from slowdown and becomes jittery, I was wondering if there was something I could do to stop this as i want to buy the full game, keep in mind this is the first time ever iv tried to play a game on a p.c/laptop so im pretty much clueless and if someone helps me i will love them x8

If it's a laptop and it wasn't bought specifically for gaming, it's probably because the graphics card is shit. The graphics cards that come in most people's laptops are shit for gaming.

Unfortunately you can't upgrade the graphics card in a laptop.

Another possibility is that it's memory. Maybe in larger areas, the game streams in just enough that you go over the limit of what can be stored in RAM, and bits of the game start getting paged in and out from the swap file.

i got it for my ps2- played it on my ps3 with the upscaler on for my hdtv and it looks fantastic! The best thing is i got it for £19.97p out of tescos- that saved me a £10 as game and everyone else were selling it for £29!

Iv got a few games to finish off first then i'll be playing this as i loved it on the ps1.

tell me about it, iv only got rfom for my ps3, and im busy playing god of war again, DMC3, FF12, pro evo 6 and Tomb raider all ps2 games on a next gen machine what a waste eh?
I better get these games finished afore some decent games come out on ps3!

One tip for the new tomb raider on the ps2- dont stand about looking at all the lovely caves and lightning/shadowing lokking to see where to climb/swing cause sooner or later you shit yourself when a fecking wolf comes and bites yer bum!
I just love the exploring that the sequals have missed out on, your walking along and the music changes.... fak somthings gona happen!!!!!

tomb raider went wrong after the third one (which is ma fav) and this one just seems to rekindle (spelled incorrectly) that lost spark and it actually makes me wanna get a ps2 just for it...i wont as am skint tho, but I would if i was king...also manhunt 2 is fucking last-gen exclusive, what the "cunt" are they playing at?!?!?!

some laptops do come with user upgradable graphics cards, pretty sure Dell's range do but dont quote me on that

am currently investigating an Advent series to see if it can be done with that, but im sure its built into the motherboard.
