Media Player problems...
when i try to load a .mpg or .mpeg file into Media Player 10 it gives me an error (as does Windows Explorer) and closes both applications down.
its fine with .avi files however. if i am browsing through video files in explorer and select a video file then it crashes windows explorer before it even gets to media player if i manage to drag it to say VLC it plays without an issue. any ideas whats going on? ive uninstalled and re-installed windows media player without success. |

I think there's something about VLC and codecs - It has them all built in or something, so you don't actually need to get codecs for things, that's why I think it's codec related. If it was me, I'd try uninstalling everything to do with media playing - media player, codec packs, vlc etc. then try just installing CCCP and try playing things in media player classic.
Maybe even try graphics and/or soundcard drivers. |
