PC Memory expansion?

My hard drive is getting fuller and fuller and I'm going to have to start thinking about expanding my memory, but should I go for internal or external hard drive? Is there a difference?

It's music that takes up most of my space, if that makes any difference also.

Advice appreciated!

Distortionage is an unknown quantity at this point
Internal: cheaper, faster but... not portable, you need a spare sata or ide slot and cable (depending on which you buy) and also room inside your pc

So it's basically down to whether you want a portable hd, if not i would just go for an internal

Yeah, depends on whether you have free slots and room inside your PC.

If you only have one hard-drive in there though, you should have enough room, unless you've bought one of those really tiny PC cases. Most PCs have enough space and free slots for at least two hard-drives.

Personally I'd go for internal, unless you're looking to back your files up off-site, or share large files with other people by bringing your hard-drive over to theirs

Yeah I've got plenty space etc so I think I'll go internal. Seems quite inexpensive too.

couple of plus points for externals:
good for sharing things with a PS3/between multiple computers
speed isn't really an issue for things like music, movie files.

Personally though, I've never bought one because they cost more. I think I've got 4 hard drives in this PC now.
