How the fuck do you signup on Facebook? Everytime I try it tells me that I'm inelligible to sign up but doesn't actually tell me why. WTF. The site is worth $20 billion but doesn't have the sense to tell me how to signup properly.

edit: this is pretty unhelpful, but I signed up with a uni email account back when it was students only, so I can't help much anyway.

My Uni email account has terrible storage so I just used my normal address, so I don't think you need one of those specifically
Was there a point to this post? I've forgotten

no - it used to be that you could only get on facebook with a uni email account - and only from certain universities too, Edinburgh & St. Andrews were the only Scottish ones for quite a while. Then about a year ago they made it so anyone can join.

The only reason I can think of for an email address being ineligible to sign up is that you've already made an account with it.

I'll try again with a new email address. I know that it doesn't take free email addresses like hotmail, is that correct?

I signed up with my hotmail address. Maybe you've just not got a nice enough 'Face' for their facebook? (although I don't think this could possibly be the case since they let me join)
