Bye bye nutscrape

Thank fuck is all I can say. Possibly the worst browser I've ever come across.

I dunno, back in 98 it was my browser of preference. Didn't use it from 2001 onwards though so don't know what it was like recently.

Navigator was the worst version. Truely terrible. Had to use it at Uni and since then I've never gone back to it. Navigator must have turned off a lot of potential users.

Never really used it myself, but given my two of the three browsers I use (Firefox & Epiphany, along with Opera) derive from it then I think I'll give it a moments thoughts.

Done. Noticed "Flock" was mentioned a fair bit... anyone use it? The "pitch" so to speak didn't appeal to me.

I used Navigator for a short while when I first got an internet connection at home (back in 98).

I switched to Internet Explorer (version 3 at the time), because it was a hell of a lot nicer.

It should be remembered as a trail blazer rather than something that can keep up with modern browsers - several of the browsers I use are maintained by people who started on Netscape.

RIP, crappy yet important browser.

Firefox, Camino, Seamonkey.... they're the ones I think (I also have Safari and Shiira, as well as the Windows version of IE 6 running via CrossOver)

I thought Firefox was a branch off of the Netscape code, or at least contained elements that were originally in Netscape?

It's very similar, except not shit.
